## Purpose

The spacing scale used for padding, margins and gaps.

## Decisions

### Scale

A **4px base** with eight steps:

| `s-1` | 4px |
| `s-2` | 8px |
| `s-3` | 12px |
| `s-4` | 16px |
| `s-5` | 24px |
| `s-6` | 32px |
| `s-7` | 48px |
| `s-8` | 64px |

Defaults: **8px** between related items, **16px** card padding, **24px** between sections. This matches the 4/8/12/16 radius scale and the 16px horizontal button padding.
